MORRIS - The Morris Fire Protection and Ambulance District, with help from neighboring districts, are currently fighting a fire on Tuesday evening.
It is an active structure fire at Crown Concepts Corporation at 7080 Lisbon Road north of Morris.
Employees of the business said the area of the structure fire is where the paint booth is located.
Morris Fire chief Tracey Steffes said when units arrived on the scene fire was already showing through the 60 foot by 60 foot paint booth.
As of 5:25 p.m. the firefighters were still battling the fire with the newly purchased tower ladder truck the district purchased recently.
"This truck has been called to two fires in five days, if we can hold the fire to the building it's in, which I believe we will, it will have paid for itself already just in the savings to this business," Steffes said.
Due to the flammable contents of the building, Steffes said the firefighters would continue to attack the fire with two hoses until it was completely out.
Employees of the business said it was fortunate it didn't spread to the neighboring building because the welding equipment tanks they use are located there.
Steffes estimates the fire caused $260,000 worth of damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
