The Grundy County Early Learning Screening team, which serves all school districts in Grundy County, will be conducting Early Learning Screenings for 3-, 4-, and 5-year-olds. The instrument known as the Developmental Indicators for the Assessment of Learning-Fourth Edition (DIAL-4), is a developmental screening test designed to identify young children in need of further diagnostic assessment or who may be at risk for environmental or developmental reasons.
Any preschool-age child who is not yet enrolled in kindergarten can benefit from the screening program. Interested parents are advised to call 815-942-5780 or send mail to Grundy County Special Education Cooperative, 725 School St., Morris. Children must have an appointment to be screened.
The next screening will be from 8 a.m. until noon Saturday at Minooka Elementary School. Screenings are for children ages 3 to 5 who reside in Grundy County school districts. To make an appointment, call 815-942-5780.
