“Outreach and education are an on-going process, educating veteransso they are more aware of the benefits they are eligible for and how to access those benefits is ongoing and an important part of our mission.” Ken Buck, Superintendent of the Grundy County Veterans Assistance Commission, said in a press release.
Part of the outreach is the Edward Hines VA Hospital Community Outreach Team. This team consists of an enrollment/eligibility clerk, a nurse and the team coordinator.
A variety of services are available from the team and they can also help veterans with referrals and information about the programs and services available at Hines Hospital and the Joliet Community Clinic.
“We are fortunate to have the team coming to Grundy County, allowing veterans to learn more about VA health care and the opportunities veterans have to use these services.” Buck said.
