Burglary suspect turns himself in

MORRIS – A Morris burglary suspect turned himself in Tuesday, four days after Morris Police charged him in connection with a Jan. 31 burglary.

Zachary Guzman, 18, of Morris was charged with residential burglary, a Class 1 felony, on Feb. 9 after police investigated a burglary on the 1300 block of Union Street.

The resident had reported someone had entered through a window and taken jewelry, cash and alcohol, according to the Morris Police report.

Guzman turned himself in to Morris police at about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. He posted a $5,000 cash bond and was released with a court date, according to the Morris Police Facebook page.

A Class 1 felony could carry a sentence of between four and 15 years. Guzman is next due in court March 1.
