SYCAMORE – The Morris baseball team's offensive surge continued Thursday in a 13-6 Northern Illinois Big 12 win over Sycamore. The victory gave the Redskins (14-4, 5-1) a three-game sweep over the Spartans.

Morris led 4-0 after two innings, then erupted for eight runs in the top of the third. Sycamore rallied to put up two in the bottom of the third and added three more in the fourth. Both teams scored a run in the fifth.

Jacob Overbeck was 4 for 5 with a pair of doubles and three RBIs to paced the 11-hit Morris attack, while winning pitcher Danny Borgstrom was 3 for 4 with a double and two RBIs. Payton Voitik added a double and an RBI, while Patrick McCabe, Jared Lines and Nathan Wantland each had an RBI.

On the mound, Borgstrom went five innings, allowing six runs (three earned) on seven hits and striking out seven against no walks. Tyler Dunne threw two scoreless innings, surrendering one hit and striking out one.

“We continue to swing the bats well, and we are starting to get more timely hits," Morris coach Todd Kein said. "Danny was gutsy on the mound for us. Any sweep you can get in our conference is huge.”
