Runners kick off the Mazon United Methodist 5k run on Saturday, June 2.

MAZON – The eighth annual Mazon United Methodist 5K Run was held Saturday and directed by the Rev. Karen Fabian.

“The Lord blessed the event with perfect running weather, 45 entries, and 15 sponsors, as well as wonderful volunteers from both Mazon UMC and Braceville UMC, and one from Life Church in Morris as well,” Fabian said in a news release. “We had several pastors that also ran the 5K:  Rev. Harriette Cross from First UMC of Wilmington, Pastor Tyler Carrell from Park Street Church in Mazon, and Pastor Don Goodenow from Bissell UMC.”

Fabian also will be directing the Braceville United Methodist 5K on July 21.
