MORRIS – On June 13, Exelon’s Dresden Station employees held a fundraiser bowling event at Echo Lanes in Morris. Their primary goal was to raise money to help fund the Morris Rotary Food for Kids Backpack Program.
Through the generosity of the Dresden Station employees, along with matching funds from Exelon, Morris Rotary was the beneficiary of a $5,400 donation.
James “Bubba” Waite and Anna Barichello from Exelon presented the check to Alan Ferrari, Morris Rotary president, at Maria’s Ristorante on Sept. 11.
The cost to feed one student for a full school year is $80. Donations can be made by clicking on the “Fill a Backpack” link at www.morrisrotary.org.
Rotary hosts a dinner at 5:45 p.m. each Tuesday at Maria’s Ristorante, 1591 Division St., Morris.
Morris Rotary has formed Morris Young Leaders in Action for the purpose of gathering young leaders in the community to gather, share ideas and give back.
The group meets at 5:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month at Montage Wine & Spirits, 307 Liberty St.
