Morris police release photo of burglary suspect

MORRIS – Morris police are investigating two apparently related burglaries that happened overnight Thursday. They have released surveillance footage and a photo of a suspect.

At about midnight Thursday, police officers responded to an alarm call at the Citgo located at 303 E. Washington St. Upon arrival, officers found evidence of a forced entry. Items were taken, although it was yet unclear Thursday morning what had been taken.

Later, at 8:20 a.m., police officers to a report at Greenhorn Saloon at 3030 E. Bedford Road also reported it had been robbed. Owners reported there had been forced entry, several rooms had been gone through and an undetermined amount of cash had been taken, Deputy Chief Chad Skelton said.

Detectives are investigating.

Police ask that anyone with information contact Morris Police Det. Paul Burke at 815-942-1158 or Crimestoppers at 815-942-9667.
