U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-16th District, is accepting applications from students in the 16th District for consideration for the U.S. Military Service Academies.
The application deadline is Friday.
Members of Congress have the privilege each year of nominating a limited number of individuals to be considered for appointment each year into one of the service academies.
The nation’s distinguished military colleges present an exceptional opportunity to fulfill career goals and enhance the skills necessary to become a successful individual with an emphasis on leadership, the site notes.
“As a current member of the Armed Forces, I take the responsibility of my selections most seriously,” Kinzinger wrote on the website. “An appointment to a U.S. Military Service Academy is an extraordinary honor which requires a dedicated commitment to learn and profound commitment to serve. I consider it a privilege to be able to recommend nominees for a potential appointment to these great institutions. I salute your ambitions aspirations and wish you the very best of success in achieving your goal.”
Prospective appointees can find the application and additional information at Kinzinger’s official House website, kinzinger.house.gov and clicking on “Services.”
