In January, the DuPage Medical Group Charitable Fund of the DuPage Foundation awarded a $20,000 donation to support the Will-Grundy Medical Clinic (WGMC). The donation supports WGMC’s Health Partnership Program, which provides high quality healthcare to residents of Will and Grundy counties who are uninsured or underinsured.

“Our new partnership is made possible by donations and grants from our community supporters like the DuPage Foundation,” explained Shawn Marconi, Executive Director of WGMC. “Because of these resources, we will be able to grow our impact and provide needed health care to more people.”

WGMC has been providing critical health care services in the community for more than 30 years. The clinic’s new Health Partnership Program, involves partnering with local federally qualified health clinics (FQHCs) like the Will County Community Health Center, to more effectively leverage resources. The Health Partnership Program will allow both the clinic’s vast network of volunteers (including physicians, nurses, dentist, and other healthcare providers) and our partner FQHCs to expand critical healthcare services to more members of our community.

The clinic is fully funded through donations and grants and receives no government funding. Donations like the one made possible by the DuPage Foundation, are instrumental in maintaining this important safety net.

The mission of the Will-Grundy Medical Clinic is to promote a healthy community by providing free health-care services to people who are unable to receive care from other sources in Will and Grundy counties, and providing these services through dedicated volunteers together with a small paid staff, and in partnership with other community agencies and healthcare providers.

Will-Grundy Medical Clinic is a not-for-profit 501(c) 3 and a United Way partner organization. For more information, please visit www.willgrundymedicalclinic.org.
